How to Cure Vaginal Dryness

March 26th, 2010

We all know the importance of intimacy in any relationship. Sex is an integral part of any relationship; it conveys emotions and feelings that help us communicate better with our partners. One of the secrets of successful couples is to have a healthy sexual relationship. But when the pleasure or enjoyment of sex is hindered by vaginal dryness, couples should immediately seek treatment for this medical condition.

Many females suffer from vaginal dryness at one point of their life. There are many possible causes for this including diet, anxiety, age, and hormone levels in the body. Treatments for vaginal dryness may vary depending on the underlying cause. This medical condition is simple to treat and using a lubricant during intercourse can be a quick way to remedy the situation.

Without the moisture produced by the vagina, intercourse can be a painful and even traumatic experience. Moisture is naturally produced by the vagina during intercourse. The amount of discharge is naturally affected by hormone changes and age. A healthy female may experience changes in the amount, odor and consistency of their discharge.

Vaginal lubrication is produced by two small glands located beside the vagina. During intercourse fluids is released from these glands into the vagina. This serves as a lubricant for the penis allowing for smoother penetration and a more pleasurable experience during sex.

Hormones such as estrogen and progesterone are responsible for many female characteristics including vaginal secretions. This is why even healthy females may experience changes in the amount and consistency of discharge during the menstrual cycle. The changes are none more evident than when females go into menopause where the levels of estrogen and progesterone drop significantly causing lesser moisture in the vagina.

Here are some tips on how to cure vaginal dryness:

There are a lot of creams, moisturizers and oils which could be used to lubricate the vagina during intercourse. For women suffering from unusually dry vagina or decreased secretions, this could be an easy way of managing the situation. This however is not a treatment but only provides temporary relief from dryness.

The use of lubricants is recommended for females who have been diagnosed as healthy and the bout of dryness is only due to normal hormone level changes during menstruation, menopause, or pregnancy. Women must understand that lubricants are not cures but for normal functioning in the vagina is to be restored, treatment of the underlying factor should be considered for finding a permanent cure.

But, Gels like HerSolution try to restore your body’s normal systems which lubricate the vagina naturally and thus avoid the need for these gels.

Eating a diet that increases the production of estrogen helps in normalizing sexual functions in the female body. Estrogen plays an important role in determining moisture levels in the vagina and production of estrogen is affected by factors such as age. Fat intake affects estrogen production. Cholesterol is an important building block for estrogen and maintaining adequate amounts is important as women age.

There are also dietary supplements on the market that have a direct effect on the levels of estrogen in the body. However, consulting with your doctor and asking for a recommended dosage helps eliminate the risk of harmful side effects.

Fluid Intake

One of the visible signs of aging is skin dryness. As women advance in age, the body is unable to retain fluids leading to dry skin and less body mass. Increasing fluid intake helps to replace lost bodily fluids. Water makes up a huge percentage of our body and maintaining water levels helps the body to function normally.

Taking in some types of beverages such as coffee and alcohol also increase fluid loss in the body. These drinks have diuretic properties which speed up liquid loss. Aging decreases the body’s ability to eliminate these substances which only increases the effect of these compounds.

Feminine Wash

Although a great deal of research gone into the production of feminine wash and soaps, many of these products contain high levels of alcohols and irritants which strip the vagina of valuable moisture content. Feminine douches including those with antibacterial content dry the linings of the vagina. Swimming for hours in a swimming pool may also dry the skin with their high chemical content.

Are you referring to lubrication when you say vaginal discharge? Using hersolution gel should get rid of the problem. And using hersolution pills would help you address the problem from the source. And as a side effect it should improve your breast size also.

I have been married for 2 years and our sex life has gone out if the window! Soon after we got married I got thrush which made sex painful and I went to the doctor to get this treated, but our sex life never got back to the way it was. A doctor suggested going off the pill to decrease dryness and to increase libido but iv been off the pill for a year now and still no improvement. I’m dry ALL the time and barely ever get aroused. I’m only 27 and this problem is really causing problems in my marriage. We don’t get her solution in South Africa… Do you know of any natural supplements to take to help this problem?

Hello, I posted just a short while ago with a question regarding high heartrate and hyperactive thyroid, NON-medicated currently. I also mentioned that I have rheumatoid arthritis, but neglected to add that I take Pr**nisone, just 10mg every other day. While I’m not asking for medical advice, is there any conflict that you are aware of with this medication and either of the HerSolution products?

    Thank you very much.

  8. Rebecca says:

Hello, I posed this question on HerSolution website several months ago, but did not receive a reply. I hope you will respond. Are there any ingredients in HerSolution products that increase the heartrate? I realize that you cannot give medical advice, but as I have hyperactive thyroid and am NOT currently on any medication for it, I have a constant high heartrate and would not want it to be increased further by these or other products. An answer to this question might also be helpful to those who experience anxiety, in whom a more rapid heartbeat might heighten feelings of anxiousness.

In addition, is there any other possible reason of which you are aware that would make these products ill advised for someone with my condition? (In addition to rheumatoid arthritis.)

I am 60, and would very much like to try these products, particularly for vaginal dryness.
Thank you in advance for hopefully answering my questions.

I’m 20 and Ive been expirencing dryness., it makes it really hard to have sex; we use lubricant but its sometimes embarrassing to use it constantly. I’ve been using feminine wash with ph balances but I feel like that maybe the cause. I don’t have insurance to go see a doctor, what do I do..?

    • admin says:

Have you tried discontinuing using the feminine wash? Perhaps its causing the dryness. You can try hersolution tablets that aim to naturally lubricate your vagina and relieve you of dryness thereby reducing the use of a lubricant.

Vitamin E and Omega 3 fatty acids help keep vaginal walls healthy and therefore may assist natural lubrication. Of course, if some medical condition is causing this then diet alone would not help. You can also try HerSolution Gel which would not only help you get rid of vaginal dryness but also improve your sensations and make sex way more enjoyable. As far as the diet is concerned,
